Wow, another great year in the books! Thanks to you, Oak Tree 2016 raised close to $33,000 for local charities.

The September 2016 finale was a huge success – read the full story here.

This year The Elliott Community took home the grand prize of $5,000 for their initiative to improve the quality of life of residents suffering from dementia through a volunteer-led Music and Memory program.

Guelph Neighbourhood Support Coalition won the $1,000 Judges’ prize, while Better Beginnings, Better Futures won the $1,000 People’s Choice Award. Each finalist was awarded at least $2,000 and as always, nobody went home empty handed!

We also recognized two members of our community who have been involved with Oak Tree since the very beginning. Mary Jane & Al Beingessner were the first recipients of our Oak Tree Champions award for building strong roots in our community.

Thanks again to everyone who helped us have our best year yet, we look forward to Oak Tree 2017!
